Dolphin Finish Season in Style

Swindon Dolphin played their final B & W fixture of the season against Weston Super-Mare last Sunday.  The side performed well and completed a comfortable victory by 17 goals to 8.

Dolphin were always in control of this fixture against a developing team that was a mixture of youth and experience.   They controlled the encounter from the start, and led the game throughout.  A pleasing aspect was that all squad members played their part in this final league encounter of the year.

Goals were spread throughout the team with main contributions from Michal Trzeciak (3), Andy Hicks (3), Diogo Monteiro (3), Matt James (3), Angelo Polymeris (2), Chris Selby, David Quinlivan and Mark Lawlor.

Major fouls were as ever on the high side and there was some good man down defending.  One or two excellent saves from goal keeper Andy Watts kept the young side’s strikes to a minimum.

Coach David Quinlivan said after the match “We have to be pleased with the season when we look at how we performed on the whole.  There were obviously one or two disappointing results, but there were also some really pleasing excellent ones.  We hope we can build on the improvements made this season next year.  Also let’s hope we can continue this fine form in our final two National League weekends and end the year with some silverware.”

Result:  Swindon Dolphin 17 – 8 Weston Super-Mare

Weekend Stats:  Andy Watts, David Quinlivan (1 goal, 3 majors), Chris Selby (1 goal, 1 major), Andy Hicks (3 goals, 1 major), Andy Prowse, Ian Brewer (1 major), Matt James (3 goals), Diogo Monteiro (3 goals), Mark Lawlor (1 goal, 2 majors), Michal Trzeciak (3 goals, 2 majors), Angelo Polymeris (2 goals, 2 majors)
