Paul Kirk broke 2 county records in the second round of the Wiltshire Masters Championships at the Link Centre on Saturday evening in a contest that saw Swindon Dolphin Masters progress to the final round on October 4th having extended their lead over their closest rivals, Salisbury, by 33 points. In the 35-39 years age group, Kirk smashed the 25m freestyle record with a new time of 12.20 and then went on to break Steve Cryer’s 50m butterfly record, set in 2003, with a new best time of 28.22.

Individually, Jon Audis and Brian Davis were in top form both winning four events; Louise Maynard, Andi Manley, Kirk and Jose Adam took three apiece and Richard Fouracre secured two first places. Dean Fouracre and Dave Ingram also recorded fine wins while Glenys France, Ingram, Jan Petr, along with Richard & Dean Fouracre added valuable second and third place finishes.

In the relays, both the Men’s 120-159 years 4x25m freestyle foursome of Audis, Manley, Kirk & Mike Wootton, and the Mixed 76-120 years 4x50m medley quartet of Audis, Richard Fouracre, Maynard & Cally Gould were triumphant on the night producing spectacular swims.
